I am an attorney focused on the litigation of insurance claims involving bad faith and violations of the Washington Insurance Fair Conduct Act.
I was born in Auburn and grew up in Covington, Washington. Prior to graduating from Kent-Meridian High School, I was nominated to attend West Point by Senator Warren Magnuson and Congressman Don Bonker. I graduated from West Point in 1983 and proudly served for over 5 years as an officer in the US Army including a tour at Fort Lewis (now Joint Base Lewis-McChord). After leaving the Army as a Captain, I attended law school at Arizona State University and then returned to Seattle to practice law starting in 1991.
My legal career has been primarily in civil litigation. I started in a boutique construction law firm and then later started my own law firm focused on insurance and litigation against insurance companies for denying, delaying or underpaying insurance claims.

I spent many years as a commercial and residential property claims supervisor and adjuster. I personally handled property claims caused by fire, wind, earthquake, flood, vandalism and pollution all over the US and in New Zealand. I also supervised teams of insurance adjusters working in disaster areas.
