Mt Si Montessori recently celebrated its 29th year of educating children in the Snoqualmie Valley. Mt Si Montessori offers a unique environment blending the best of the Montessori philosophy in a warm relaxed setting. The 2 classroom building makes for an intimate family setting, and our extra large playground has plenty of room for the children to run and play.
We are located inside the North Bend city limits on nearly an acre of property. Mt Si Montessori is a Washington State Licensed Childcare Center. Our teachers are certified through Nationally Accredited Teacher Training Programs. Mt Si Montessori offers mixed age classrooms for children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 6 years of age.
Children are able to learn at their independent level, in a classroom that promotes social, emotional and intellectual growth. Students explore at their own pace using hands on materials designed specifically for them.
Philosophy & Goals
The basis of our program was developed by Educator Dr. Maria Montessori. Her focus was to observe the natural development of the child, then design materials to support that development. Through our program children learn how to learn and progress at their own rate using the materials in the classroom.
Mt Si Montessori believes in teaching the whole child. We have a safe, nurturing environment that lets the children explore freely both inside the classroom and out. The classroom has carefully prepared materials for the children placed at their level to encourage exploration and use. The children are able to socialize quietly while developing a lifelong love of learning. Our large playground allows for many gross motor activities; monkey bars, tire swing and our large sand box keep the kids happy and active during their outside time.
We miss this school everyday
This is easily the best Montessori in the area. Our daughter has been to several "Montessorta" schools. This is the real deal. She has learned much more in a month there than all the time at all of the other schools. These other schools, it's like she is not learning anything, more of kid care than school. The classes are very well out-fitted with learning gear and the teachers are great. Really good security and great hours. Prices also much, much more reasonable. I'm not sure what else to say but we miss this school everyday (we moved to Maple Valley).
