About Amy
I started grooming in 1989 working for and being trained by a professional dog handler. The dogs I groomed won many awards including multiple Best in Show.As I got older I wanted to turn my grooming into a full time profession, so I enrolled in Tara Lara Grooming School in Portland, Oregon, where I graduated first in my class, and with certification in all groups of dogs, Sporting, Non-sporting, Terrier, Herding and a Certified Master Grooming for all breeds. In addition I won the school's Golden Scissor Award for outstanding scissor work. This award had been given out to only one other student before. It was a prestigious honor. I was hired on as an instructor for the school to teach the Terrier group.
I left the school to be closer to home and went to work at Head's n' Tails Grooming Salon in Kirkland which I eventually became the manager of for 5 years. It was a rewarding experience and I got to learn first hand how to run a successful grooming business. I left Head's n' Tails to have a baby and after a few years I opened my own mobile grooming business called "The Waggin Wagon". I really enjoyed mobile grooming, but the significant rise in gas prices made the mobile business concept unprofitable.
It has always been my dream to own my very own grooming salon. So my search for a brick and mortar grooming shop began and I was thrilled when I was able to purchase Mt Si Pet Salon. I live in North Bend and have for almost 10 years, where I have children at North Bend Elementary and Chief Kanim, as well as graduates of Mt Si High School and WSU. So I was doubly excited to have my own shop close to home. I have fabulous customers and I am making friends with their canine families. I love dogs and I believe I have a special touch that they understand. I've had so many people tell me when they bring in their dogs how they won't allow you to do this or that, and I may need to muzzle them and so forth. Every time, I find these dogs to be sweet loving animals and I have no problem with them. I love loving them and they know it. That's why my slogan is "A PAWSitive Experience". Every dog leaves here happy and content, and looking like a million bucks.

The place is obviously growing as its shed from its old location inside the Ace Hardware down the street and opened this new location in the last several years.
She's a master groomer with affordable prices. However, I think she's so busy she often can't reach the phone and leaving a voicemail doesn't seem to get any results or call-back so I'd highly recommend visiting in person- — She's usually booked out at least a month or so. I'd love to se an online appointment system- — especially for how fast she seems to be growing — this would make sense to me and probably make the difference between a 4 and a 5 star for me. Or perhaps a dedicated front desk receptionist on the busiest of days.
