Opstad Elementary School (OES) was built in 1988 and is named after Edwin R Opstad, the first superintendent of our district. The school has 25 classrooms plus four modular classrooms for specialty programs. There is a spacious library, computer lab, music lab, art room, gymnasium, multipurpose room with stage, and extra-large interior hallways that are used for supplemental projects and tutoring. Through the district's technology initiative, classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology tools for 21st Century learning which includes: interactive white boards, web-based tools, and sets of mobile devices. Opstad Elementary offers students in preschool through 5th grade a safe and supportive environment for learning.
My child has been at Opstad since kindergarten and loves it.
You really get a positive feel from this small town community school. The teachers and staff are quality members that are invested in the kids. The principal is new the last several years.
My son has been happy with his teachers and no complaints so far.
We move from another state and my oldest son started his 1st grade here. He is now in 2nd grade and will be registering my daughter for Kindergarten next year, which gives you an option of FD or HD. My son has been happy with his teachers and no complaints so far. When I need to reach out for any reasons, the teachers and staff responds with a sense of urgency. I feel that I get the support I needed when issues arise and they are friendly. The new principle is great and is professional. I highly encourage parents, who have kids at this school, to give a review and support them and their community. The school is working towards improvements and continues to nurture and enhance learning beyond the district standards.
