Heading into or across the Cascade Mountains? This big, modern store in the shadow of Mt. Si is a great place to fuel up for a hike or stock up for a long drive or camping trip.
The deli makes some pretty damn good sandwiches for about $6, and there's a Tully's coffee counter inside the store. Fresh produce, bakery goods-- all at reasonable prices. This place can get pretty busy, but it never seems to take too terribly long to get in and out and the employees have never been anything other than courteous and professional. There's also a Safeway gas station located across the street.
The catch to shopping at any Safeway, however, is that you have to use one of their loyalty cards to get the 'sale' prices. Just make up a phony phone name and number that's easy to remember and you're all set there!
