What a Lovely Respite
On a whim, my husband and I ate dinner at the Riverbend Cafe before his gig at the North Bend Jazz Walk. We didn't have a ton of time but that's okay. This Cafe near a former golf course (now a well-manicured park) offers all kinds of dishes for whatever your need or appetite.
I filled up plenty on a small Caesar salad (with shrimp) and garlic-herb fries appetizers, with just the right amount of crunch to aah ratio. My Romaine was lightly grilled and still crunchy fresh.
My husband ordered a Chicken Parm dinner with house salad, French Onion Soup, AND fried stuffed meatballs, and he was just fine in terms of making time. The fried meatballs were a delightful surprise. I would totally come back JUST for those and a nice salad.
The only downside was the French Onion Soup, which had a little too much bread for my husband's taste. If you didn't like FOS, you could go with the soup of the day, which, on a Saturday that we went, was chicken and rice. I've also heard great things about prime rib night.
There is a lot to choose from on the dinner menu, but this cafe serves breakfast and lunch, plus happy hour and dessert (fresh pies and cakes!).
We were seated with a view of the golf course/park on a sunny day. It was simply lovely.
Our server was also extremely nice and accommodating of every request (can I have a garlic aioli to go with the fries that you normally serve with fried calamari?) and question.
We'd definitely go back.
I will eat here again!
The burger & panini were delicious. The service was friendly & fast. The burger was cocked just right & the flavors were a perfect mix. The veggie panini had two cheeses and grilled veggie with fresh bread made for an amazing and filling sandwich.
