Local Japanese chain featuring cooked dishes, specialty rolls & an all-you-can-eat sushi deal.
All you can eat lunch
For about $20 you can stuff yourself with sushi rolls as long as you sit at the counter. If you eat 2 rolls you're at about break even, if you eat 3, you feel like you're saving money. That's a good thing if your not over eating, but unfortunately the temptation to overeat is overwhelming. I left feeling full, bloated on rice and soy sauce and slightly nauseous the rest of the afternoon. I should have known better but I gave into the lure of a good deal.
If you share sushi rolls with a friend you can taste a number of different rolls. Its difficult to comment on the quality of the individual rolls because as you reach the stuffed point they all pretty much start to taste the same. All the rolls we sampled tasted pretty good but none stood out as particularly excellent.
Trappers is popular on Thursday afternoon. There was a waiting line as we left. They've found what seems to be a winning formula, but I won't be back.
Not quite All-You-Can-Eat Sushi
The Sushi was tasty and good variety too. We went there for the All-You-Can-Eat Sushi but were disappointed in that this was only offered at the bar with the high stools. We opted to sit at a regular table but the All-You-Can-Eat Sushi was not offered there. Would be 5 stars if they changed that!
I never really liked sushi. Honestly, I still am not into all that raw stuff. But I like this place. They have plenty of cooked items. Great happy hour special and local too. Plus they give to the community. A win all around
